Hi Steve, I haven't been on here in a while or out on the ski. I had a stroke in June so have been trying to take it easy over the last couple of months. Anyway, with regards to Irma I'm closer to the east coast than the west so the recent west swing has done us in Orlando a big favor. Just hope the folks on the west coast & in Tampa are well prepared. Our Governor is doing a fantastic job getting the state prepared for this, & mobilizing reservists & other authorities. I've done all I can at home & my neighbors seem to be ready, so now I guess we just sit & wait.

Ian

Sorry to hear about the stroke... From your comments, sounds like it wasn't a bad one..

Take care, get strong, and keep your head down.. We are all watching.

Thanks guys, I got the care I needed very quickly so I've made a good recovery. I'm going to leave the ski in the garage for a bit. I'm still in one piece after Irma, although many didn't fair so well. We lost power for almost a week so haven't seen much tv. Looks like the keys took a huge hit.
Anyway, as fall approaches I'm looking forward to some cooler weather. I'm done with all the heat & humidity. Boosh will be looking forward to spring. How much longer do you have Steve before the ski gets tucked away for the year?

Ian.

Glad you made it Ian, on both counts.

Yes, spring is in the air, and with it comes strong winds  Think I prefer winter. Anyway, roll on summer!

In the meantime, this was our local news. Literally my backyard: http://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=11922624

I can tell you that I did yesterday's scallop dive in record time

Ian,

Hey.....

Again, you sound positive. Looking forward to hearing about you recovery, and adventures, regardless of what that might be.

As to how long. Technically, I can go most of the year. I don't have a dry suit like some but if I pick my days carefully, I can get out thru November.. I try to start thinking about the new season once there is enough warmth in either the air or water to make it comfortable, end of March, beginning of April.

We are in Outer Banks NC for a couple of weeks. Jose threw an interesting wind for a couple of days. Looking forward to hitting the Pamlico Sound Wednesday or Thursday, then next week.

Neighbor here reported netting good size Blues and a Shark. Don't know if I believe him but will take the heavier gear that I brought down..

More to come
